Needed for the mix:
1 package of oliebollenmix
500 ml lukewarm water
vegetable oil for deep frying
Equipment:
bowl, deep fryer, spoons, fork or mixer, plastic wrap or damp cloth to cover bowl
Preparation:
Combine mix and lukewarm water in a bowl. Mix (with mixer or with a fork) until the batter is smooth
Place bowl in a warm and draft free spot, cover the bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let the batter rise for about 45 minutes. Do not disturb the batter while rising.
Heat oil in deep fryer to 350F (375 on higher altitudes)
Using a spoon, gather batter and create a ball
Put the balls gently in the hot oil and dip them for a moment
Fry them for 2 minutes on one side, 2 minutes on the other
Remove them from the oil and place in a bowl with a paper towel
Serve with powdered sugar
